Hello! Good afternoon. It is a pleasure to send you my greetings through this letter and I hope you are in good health. I am so excited to share a little bit about my family and me. I live with my father, mother and siblings. My father´s name is Luis, and currently he is working cutting sugar cane on the coast. He traveled there in November and will be back in May after the harvest season finishes. However, while is on the coast, he sends us money every fifteen days to cover our home expenses. Usually he calls us and I like to talk with him. My mother´s name is Teresa and she is a housewife. Moreover she is a weaver. She weaves typical belts, blouses and Guatemalan typical shawls from Zacualpa. Also, she raises, hens, sheep, and turkeys to sell them when we have some needs. My father works as a farmer when he gets back from the coast. He grows crops for us and for our neighbors.
I have one sister and two brothers. My brothers are Danilo and Ervin. My sister is Deysi. Thank God my family and I are healthy. This year I am repeating second grade. Last year I did not pass my grade because I was absent many times. One of my happiest moments is Christmas. My whole family is together, and we prepare tamales (typical food) to eat in the dinner. We are together with my cousins who live near and we have a cheerful time. When I grow up I would like to learn how to weave as my mother does and in that way, I will have my own money to cover my basic needs by myself. I enjoy playing tag with my siblings and friends. At school I like to play soccer with my friends. My family and I attend Christ´s Church which is located about one and a half hours from our home. I like to attend and sing praises at church. I live far away from the feeding program and I walk for two hours to arrive and enjoy the delicious food. I like to eat beef meat and chicken. Thank you very much for your support and love to me through Living Water. I hope you like my letter and I hope to hear from you soon. Take care of yourself. May God bless you in a big way!
Lots of hugs
Thelma Elizabeth Rodriguez Hernandez
