My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus hoping you have a successful and blessed day.  In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. My name is Vilma Maritza Ruiz Gomez and I am 11 years old. This year, I am in 5^th grade at school. I continue receiving face-to-face classes every day and my teachers teach me a lot. At the moment, my parents are making an effort to support my sister and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. Sometimes, it is very difficult to cover all school expenses. I want to become a teacher. My favorite season of the year is winter because I like to see the fields turn green. My favorite beverage is “mosh” (a hot drink made of oatmeal). What I like to have for my birthday is to eat a cake. My favorite sport is soccer. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Petrona Gomez Benito. She is 45 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home. Moreover, she weaves typical clothes to sell and get some income. My father`s name is Pedro Ruiz Chingo.  He is 45 years old. At the moment, he continues working as a farmer and day laborer in order to support us financially. We grow corn for our family's consumption and cabbages to sell. As a humble family, our current needs are corn and groceries. I want to let you know that we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church every Friday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. My family and I are grateful to you and to Living Water because thanks to your support I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child for December and for everything you have done for me.  I hope you enjoy reading my letter.  May God bless you greatly!
