My Story

Hello! My name is Festime Seiti. My birthday is on May 15th. I am 57 years old, a widow since eight years.  There are 4 people in my family. I have four children, two boys and two girls. The girls are married and have children. One daughter got divorced. They live in the villages of Mokra and are able to come and see me. It is a joy for me to see my grandchildren who are growing fast. My older son’s name is Endri. He is a young man and is trying to find a job and provide for himself.  During the summer season he works in Saranda at the beach selling coffee or renting beach tents to the people who go to swim in the sea. He is hired from someone else to do this job and earns for the living. We don’t get to see him very often because he works away but when he returns home, he helps us financially a bit. My other son is Enxhi. He stays close to me all time and we both work together in the fields or care for our animals. Being a widow, I receive a small pension from the government and with this pension I am able to buy only the food that is needed for us both. This amount is not enough, but Enxhi and I work in our land to provide vegetables and wheat. In spring I plant a vegetable garden and I a collect a few products that we consume such as peppers, tomatoes, beans etc. The harvest time is in July and we collect wheat that we grind to flour. I make the bread at home and same as all the people who live in the village, we try to provide the flour from the lands without having to buy it in the shop. We keep a donkey. My son Enxhi collects wood in the nearest mountain for us to burn during the winter. Around our land and garden, we have got a few fruit trees and I made stewed fruits and jam. The life for me since my husband died has been too hard and I constantly deal with lack of finance. I used to work for Living Water and together with my husband I was taking the update information for the children of Rodokal, presenting the good news to the parents in the families I visited. At present, I am frequenting the church services in Rodokal every week.

The Living Water Adopt a Child team in Rodokal is doing activities throughout the week. Widows who are in the program of Rodokal receive a food package containing ingredients that are cooked at home. The package contains food items as sugar, rice, oil, pasta, etc, items that can be cooked and can cover ten to twelve meals for the whole family. Thank you for helping the widows and through them the whole community spiritually and physically.
